As for many other rally drivers my intrest for rallying started on childhood when my father had an active rally career. First experiences behind the steering wheel I got at the age of nine behind the steering wheel of old Simca 1000.

Years went by speed pouring in my vains. My debut rally happened in 2nd day of June 1993 with Peugeot 206 GTi at Rally of Huittinen. After the event I was sold for rally world. Next three seasons I rallied selected events with Ford Escort, Toyota Starlet aswell as famous Toyota Corolla rally cars.

In season 1997 I faced highly valued money serie called F-Cup and Finnish Junior Rally Championship series with Toyota Corolla FX-GT rally car. Season was very taughtful and idea for becoming a professional rally driver got started.

In season 1998 I gained the position of general rally class driver and faced Finnish Rally Championship series with Opel Astra rally car. My goal was to gain success in national aswell as international rallies. In my third rally I found myself from WRC Sweden. I also did my debut in WRC Finland.

Final year of the century gave me a possibility for entering into the world of 4WD turbocharged rally car. I showed my skills by rallying in Finnish Rally Championship series aswell as in WRC Finland with Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV rally car. The season proved to be very heavy as the car wasn't competitive and it included all sorts of technical dificulties.

New century and its' first season was better for me with my Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV rally car. I took my next step towards professionality by renting Ford Escort WRC from Jari Latvala into WRC Finland. After long rally I was fastest privateer. At the end of the season I also participated into WRC Wales GB.

In season 2001 FIA introduced junior World Rally Championship series and Super1600 rally cars. The season was taughtful as I participated into six rounds with Peugeot 206 XS Super1600 rally car. We faced lots of technical difficulties and the winner of the Championship serie was Citroen Saxo KitCar driver Sebastien Loeb.

In season 2002 I rallied in Finnish Rally Championship series with Toyota Corolla WRC. I also did selected WRC-events with Citroen Saxo Super1600. Season was successful. At the end of the season my background team gave me a possibility to show my skills behind the steering wheel of Hyundai Accent WRC.

In season 2003 everyone expected me to make a breakthru to manufacturers seat. However lots of things happened during the long season as I pushed the events with Accent WRC 3 and WRC3.5 rally cars. After WRC Sweden I was offered a full works seat for season 2004. One goal was archived and future smiled for me. However at the end of the season Hyundai announced to retire from World Rally Championship series. Even the season was finished with major dissapointment I was happy for it. I did over 90% of all developement work for the car during the season.

In season 2004 I showed my skills with private Hyundai Accent WRC. On WRC Monte Carlo and WRC Mexico I managed to be in good speed. Finally the car was in position where it should have been years ago. However the car wasn't competitive against my fellow competitors. Therefore we seeked new car for WRC Finland and found it from Suzuki as they offered me the best package. After only one day of testing I managed to drive very competitive times.

First Finn to win the Asia-Pacific rally Championship series

In season 2005 I with my co-driver Jarkko Kalliolepo gain the title of Asia-Pacific Rally Champion as we won the series in a superior way. I won five of seven events and made Finnish rally history by winning the series as a first Finn ever. Long-term job proved to be successful.

Season 2006: Best result of the rally career in WRC-level

FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship opened new doors for me. My background team negotiated perfect deal for me into Chinese Rally Championship for season 2006. However it didn't work out because FIA gave me a A-seeding. In rules of Chinese Championship they deny seeded drivers to participate into Chinese Championship. Again a rat was drawn under my feet and I had to seek new plans for my career.

New plan was opened behind the steering wheel of Mitsubishi Lancer WRC'05. With works car I rallied three WRC-events and one international rally. I gained my best-ever WRC-result in WRC Italy-Sardegna as I finished the event into fifth position. Its' my best ever-result in WRC-level. In Finland I won my home event, international Pirelli rally with same car.

Season 2007: Finnish rally Champion and return to Asia

At the end of season 2006 I received an invitation and possibility to renew my season 2005 Asia-Pacific Rally Championship with team MRF. Before that invitation I had made a decision to fight for my first Finnish Rally Championship title. Therefore two rally series in one season meant a busy schedule for me.

In Finland I rallied a bit old group-A Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII and in Asia I rallied with brand new group-N Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX rally car. Return to Asia didn't go as planned as I struggled with technical difficulties. However after dramatic events I won two rallies and gained silver medal in the Championship.

After more dramatic events I with my long-term co-driver Jarkko Kalliolepo was crowned into group-A Finnish Rally Champions.
